Who We Are?

Indo Latvian Economic Trade Council is an independent, non-governmental entity fully supported by its members.Indo Latvian Economic Trade Council (ILETC) is the most influential & biggest association of entrepreneurs in Latvia uniting members from micro, small, medium and large enterprises of all regions and industries, associations, city business clubs and other unions of entrepreneurs. Indo Latvian Economic Trade Council represents interests of entrepreneurs, as well as provides services, so that Latvia has excellent enterprises in an excellent business environment. Main sectors of its activities are business environment, competitiveness of enterprises, export.Indo Latvian Economic Trade Council serves as a thought leadership hub for Indian and international business in Latvia. It is the leading foreign business organization in Latvia, representing more than 160 members, including some of the largest international companies in the country.

The Latvian government is expected to spend about $12.3 billion (10.5 billion EUR) of EU structural funds in 2021-2027, which includes about $2.9 billion (2.5 billion EUR) Latvia will receive through the EU’s Recovery and Resilience Facility (RRF). The Latvian government provides several incentives for investment including in the areas of taxes, labor, research and development, and state credit guarantees.
Latvia extends notable cost advantages to investors, encompassing competitive labor and real estate expenditures, alongside favorable tax rates. Trade volume

In 2022–2023, trade between India and Latvia was worth around $440 million, a 60% increase from the previous year.

Major exports

India's main exports to Latvia include rubber tires, packaged medicaments, and coated flat-rolled iron.

Major imports

Latvia's main imports from India include base metals, machinery, electrical equipment, wood, and products of the chemical and allied industries.

Potential areas for collaboration

India can increase its share of Latvian imports in areas like oils and fats, vegetables, and footwear. India can also collaborate with Latvia in areas like pharmaceuticals, healthcare, telecommunications, IT, and software development.
